Service was fast and good and food was delicious. My husband and I both ordered the shredded beef and sweet plantain. We loved them. I got the side salad and he got the yucca fries. Definitely worth it and filling. I'd come again
Came here on a date with my husband. Drinks were great, I love how Hola Arepa drinks are rotating. Great place to come if you love a tequila cocktail, which I totally do. So many options! I ordered the Chalupa Arepa, which was 100/10 and brought tears to my eyes, as someone who enjoyed the Taco Bell Chalupa in the 90s. My husband got the pork belly arepa, which he said was fantastic. Next time he would add extra banana peppers since that acid really brought a kapow punch that was needed to cut the saltiness and fattiness of the pork belly. Great meal, as always. Hola Arepa is such a banger.
Great food, such a fun tropical atmosphere and good service This is our go to place for a care free but delicious and reasonably priced meal!
Hola Arepa is such a cute restaurant and DELICIOUS. We went here for my brother's birthday and all ordered arepas. I got the Argentinian steak arepa and it was ~chef's kiss~. Others in my party ordered the chalupa, pork belly, Peruvian black bean and sweet potato, and slow roasted pork arepas. All of them were a hit! The yuca fries that came on the side were great, too. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts and shredded beef plantain tostones--also delicious. All of the cocktails were great, too! Our server was super friendly and even brought us free slushy shots to celebrate my brother's birthday.
Whoa. This place has delicious food and great service. Fans of Latin food will LOVE the menu--with options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat lovers, there's really something for everyone. The drink menu is impressive as well--options for beer lovers, wine lovers, aficionados of sugarcane and agave spirits, plus intriguing cocktails and zero proof options. This place is just begging to be where you next meet friends for happy hour. We started with the black bean plantain tostones and the vegetarian style of the Brussels sprouts. The tostones were delicious--the black beans, guacamole, and pickled onions went perfectly with the crispy plantain. As for the Brussels sprouts, they were truly superior--deeply caramelized and served atop a beautiful onion jam, they were truly a pleasure. Tamarind added a je ne sais quoi to both. My only regret is that I had to share. For our mains, we tried a variety of the tostones, which are lovely little mouthfuls. The black bean and sweet potato was my favorite--the combination of beans and sweet potatoes is always magical, and the pickled banana peppers added an awesome bit of acidity. The cilantro and mint were deliciously refreshing too. This one was bright and beautiful. We also tried the jackfruit al pastor. The jackfruit was tender and flavored with pineapple and adobo that went beautifully with the citrus onions, citrus crema, and fiery habanero sauce. For dessert, we had the horchata banoffee trifle pie, which was absolutely amazing. The dulce de leche, the horchata pudding, the graham cracker crumble... an absolutely gorgeous bite--all of the flavors and textures were wonderful. We really loved our server Miles, and we were especially impressed by the ultra-speedy service overall. Our food came out lickety split despite the fact that it was already busy. It was pretty warm out, so we sat inside. While it was a super fun space (plants, bright colors, and fun decor), it was quite loud so a bit hard to talk. The extensive outdoor seating options look great, though (includes two swings at the bar!), and I can't wait to come back and try one of their patio options.
I am here to update my review! It has been a while since I was last at Hola Arepa, and this was honestly my favorite time so far. I want to start with the amazing staff. Everyone is so nice and friendly that I could ask any of the staff for anything I needed. Food came out quickly, and they accommodated a group sharing apps and desserts. The vibe and feel of Hola Arepa are so fun. They have an indoor space, a covered patio, and an uncovered patio. The music and decorations make it a fun place to be, and I could stay there for hours. You can find plants, lights, and tropical decorations everywhere. Even in the heat, the covered patio was breezy and cool. I ordered the Argentinian Steak and Eggs Arepas, and they were delicious. I never really knew how to eat arepas, as they are filled with food but look like sandwiches. Whether you use a fork and knife or go in with your hands is up to you. The area was so good, crispy on the outside, and the steak and eggs were the perfect brunch meal. I also had their Iced Tea of the Day, which I highly recommend to anyone not drinking, and the mango chai seed pudding is delicious and light. I will definitely be coming here more often, as I am a bike ride away, and they are ample bike parking; just be sure to make a reservation ahead of time, as it can get busy!
I haven't been to Hola Arepa since last summer but I love this spot; the food is always delicious, they have fun drinks, & they've expanded their patio area so it's huge! There are plants & string lights everywhere, covered & uncovered patios, plus the inside seating, so there's something for everyone. The staff have always been very helpful & quick, even when they're pretty busy. Today I had a cold brew & the Black Bean & Queso Fresco arepa. I do wish it had come with an egg, but that's what I get for panic ordering & not reading the menu closely enough lol. The arepa was delicious, though, especially when I used some of the green sauces. The yucca fries were so crispy & tasty, too. Our table also split a mango chia seed pudding at the end; the mango tasted so fresh, the overall dessert wasn't too sweet. In all, I try to bring all of my out of town guests here; it's such a great place!
We arrived right at open to take advantage of the evening. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the nice weather. The patio was decorated with plants and had a cozy vibe to it. Our waitress was very helpful and gave some good recommendations. My partner and I split the birria toastada off the happy hour menu and then the peruvian sweet potato black bean arepa with Yuca fries. The birria toastada was fantastic! Juicy and delicious without being too greasy. So much flavor in a crispy and tender bite. The arepa was devine! Absolutely recommend the arepa and yuca fries were so good we even considered ordering more. I can't wait to come back and try more!
Yucca fries were so good! I enjoyed the vibes and the food here -- and the service was nothing short of fantastic. Our group dropped by after a work event and we were a little rowdy but the server matched our energy and gave us recommendations to keep the party going. Such a cute little spot!
I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't been here but I'm so glad I finally got around to it. Aside from it being just absolutely beautiful inside, i felt like I was transported to some tropical island. The service was so good. With waiters coming in and checking on us multiple times. I ordered the hot honey chicken thighs arepa and omg so delicious. My date had the Cuban and I think he said it was great. I also got some sweet plantains to start. What an explosion of flavor. I also ordered the embarrassment of mangos. It' was super sweet but yummy. I will definitely be back. Mostly because I didn't take too many photos cause I was having too much fun.
